BURNET — One man is in critical condition while another is behind bars following a Sunday morning shooting stemming from a verbal argument, officials said.
Burnet police charged Ricardo Torres, 25, with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, tampering with evidence and unlawful possession of a firearm following a shooting that sent a 22-year-old man to an Austin hospital.
According to Burnet officials, police responded to a shooting in the 700 block of South McNeil Street in Burnet around 2:30 a.m. Officers allege Torres shot Vidal Rodriguez following a verbal altercation, a Burnet release stated.
The man remained in critical condition as of Sept. 16, according to officials.
