FROM STAFF REPORTS
BURNET — Burnet Middle School students returned to school about 3 p.m. April 14 after a second bomb threat in less than a week.
Seventh- and eighth-grade students were moved off campus April 14 out of caution for a non-credible report of a bomb, according to school officials. Those students were moved to the sixth-grade gymnasium.
Law enforcement searching the seventh- and eighth-grade campus cleared the buildings by 3 p.m.
On April 10, a note was found in a bathroom that led to the school being evacuated and a middle school student’s arrest.
All after-school and evening activities also will continue as planned.
The district is posting updates on its website at www.burnet.txed.net.
Anyone with information about this event is asked to call the Burnet Police Department at (512) 756-6404 or the Burnet County Sheriff’s Office at (512) 756-8080. Students also may contact school personnel.
