BERTRAM — Bertram city secretary Evan Milliorn is returning home.

After about 3½ years, Milliorn is resigning from his job in Bertram to become assistant director of administrative services for the city of Burnet.

His final day in Bertram is May 8.

“The opportunity came up with the city of Burnet and was something I had to take a serious look at,” said Milliorn, who is originally from Burnet.

Milliorn will work with Crista Bromley, director of administrative services.

“The position is varied, and he will be working with all city departments to assist them with administrative efforts,” Bromley said. “He will work extensively with economic development and will assist me with a number of community development programs such as housing and program development.”

Milliorn began in Bertram in October 2010. He graduated from the University of Texas-San Antonio in 2008 with a political science degree.

Bertram Mayor Dickie Allen said the city has begun its search for a replacement.

“I’m happy he has a better opportunity to advance himself,” Allen said. “I hate to lose him. He’s a valued employee.”
